All members are encouraged to attend our May Social/General meeting because it's an election night. For old time’s sake, we are back at the Buffalo Gap and need an accurate head count to reserve the right space.

We will be electing next year’s board and we will also vote for our Crystal Cup recipient, who will be honored at our Thank You Night event on Tuesday, June 24th.

PLEASE RSVP SO WE HAVE ROOM FOR EVERYONE!

2025-2026 Candidates

The nominating committee is recommending the following individuals for elected board positions for the 2025-2026 season. The Race Director and NWSCC Representative are appointed positions and will be filled by the incoming president following Installation in June.

President: Marina Nimmo, incumbent

Vice President: Tina Weber, former president

Treasurer: Kelsey Sayre, incumbent

Secretary: Sheri Parshall, current historian

Membership: Cheryl Dunlap, incumbent

Historian: Virginia Keil, current secretary

Communications: Open

President: Marina Nimmo

Marina is the current Skiyente president. She has been a part of Skiyente since 2015 and served as the Vice President for two years before stepping into her role as President. Marina loves all things skiing, but is extremely passionate about racing. Her vision for the 2025-2026 season is to not only grow membership, but also grow Skiyente's presence in adult racing by increasing participation at:

  • the Skiyente and Maryanne Cups

  • her four co-ed PACRAT teams

  • her low-cost race training programs

She is super thrilled with club growth this year, and plans to bring that energy into 2026 and beyond! Marina's theme has always been "Opportunities, not Obligations." If anyone understands a full plate, it's her; members are always invited to events and encouraged to attend, but each member is free to make their own club experience -- it's a choose your own adventure situation. We provide the party and you decide how hard you're looking to party :)

In addition to skiing, Marina loves hiking and backpacking, riding horses, golfing, running and lifting, traveling, and anything on the water, to name a few things.

Marina is lowkey obsessed with her dog Bode and forgets to talk about her soon-to-be husband Adam, but he's pretty alright.

A grad student by day, Marina is working on her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at OHSU. She's also the Head Coach of the St Mary's Academy Ski Team and the Membership Director for PACRAT Racing.

Vice President: Tina Weber

Volunteerism has always been important to Tina. During her Skiyente membership, she has held board positions of President, Treasurer and Secretary. She has also assisted with or co-chaired many events including the King Winter dinner, Tailgater, summer function, installation, and Maryanne Cup Race. This year, after an eight-year hiatus, Tina rejoined Skiyente’s Racy Brats PACRAT team.

Outside of Skiyente, she served for over eight years on the boards of the Portland Human Resource Management Association and Quadriplegics United Against Dependency.

Formerly from Missouri, Tina and her husband moved to Portland in 1995 looking for a closer proximity to skiing and whitewater rafting. A few years later she graduated from Portland State University and enjoyed a long career in human resources consulting followed by five years with an electric utility company.

She is looking forward to rejoining the board as Vice President, and if elected will strive to ensure the club’s annual events continue as well as coordinate with event chairs to resolve any
issues.

Treasurer: Kelsey Sayre

As the incumbent Treasurer and her fourth year of Skiyente membership, Kelsey's Skiyente involvement extends beyond financial duties to her active participation in PACRAT.

Kelsey was raised in a close-knit rural Oregon logging town, this upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for community values. Her professional expertise as an accountant provides Skiyente with invaluable financial acumen, a crucial asset for the Treasurer role she currently holds. Her understanding of fiscal responsibility and strategic financial planning is directly applicable to ensuring the organization's continued stability and future growth.

Beyond her professional life and dedication to the club, Kelsey enjoys actively engaging with her local community. You can find her cheering on Portland's sports teams, exploring Oregon's scenic hiking trails, or unwinding with a captivating book. These activities show her appreciation for both community spirit and personal reflection.

A cherished part of Kelsey's life is her loyal canine companion, Juanjo. Spending quality time with him, whether on leisurely walks, exploring parks, or just relaxing at home, highlights her caring nature and appreciation for companionship.

Kelsey is deeply invested in Skiyente's success and is eager to continue fostering its financial health and prosperity in the years to come.

Secretary: Sheri Parshall

Sheri joined Skiyente in 1991 and has served in every office except Treasurer!

She is the current president of NWSCC and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Far West Ski Association.

Sheri has been the secretary of many organizations, including Skiyente, the Mt. Hood Cultural Center and Museum, PACRAT, FWSA, NWSCC, and the Interlachen Homeowners Association.

Have laptop, will travel!

Membership: Cheryl Dunlap

Hey there ladies, - it's your girl Cheryl!

I joined Skiyente in 2023 and quickly became an active and enthusiastic member of the club. I first served as the NWSCC representative before stepping into the role of Membership Director last year, where I found my flow creating fun and inclusive social events for both current and prospective members. I'm passionate about building community and am dedicated to not only growing the club’s membership, but also strengthening the bonds of sisterhood that make Skiyente special, unique and worth being a part of.

Ripping freshies on my snowboard is my ultimate jam, but I'm also a fan of hiking, paddleboarding, and camping - with a little dash of shenanigans thrown in. I recently added running to my list of adventures and am currently training for my first half marathon. Pray for me.

I try my hardest to bring great energy, creativity, and commitment to everything I set out to do, and I'm excited to continue fostering connection and camaraderie as Membership Director in the year to come. I also run the most bomb ass Instagram account that you ALL should be following - @skiyenteoffical. Holla at your girl!

But mostly - I've decided I'm not leaving. You can pry this position from my cold dead hands. okay thankssssssss <3 XOXO Feral Cheryl

Historian: Virginia Keil

Virginia was born and raised in Portland, OR to a large family of skiers. She learned to ski at the age of 3 or so on the slopes of Sun Valley where her family traveled for every spring break. She fine tuned her skiing in Oregon at Skibowl and Timberline through her teenage years, eventually deciding to join the Grant/Cleveland ski team in her senior year and participating in the OISRA state race.

After high school, Virginia attended and graduated from Carroll College in Montana with a teaching degree in 2015. She had the lucky opportunity to ski many areas in Montana during her very low-income college years. She returned to Oregon in 2015 and obtained her first teaching job and then a master’s in special education in 2020. She is currently a high school special education teacher by trade and has a private tutor business outside of her day job. Virginia also has co-coached the Eastside High Schools ski team for the past 6 years.

Virginia joined Skiyente last year and went full-in as a board member (secretary position). She’d been interested in joining Skiyente for several years, but just needed the one final push (from Marina) to jump in, which she is very happy she did. She also joined PACRAT and officially raced for her first time since her high school days.

Virginia is excited to be the newest historian. She wrote her college capstone thesis on the culture and history of skiing on Mt. Hood and has a passion and love for the subject. She hopes to bring that to the table to implement some projects over this next year that will shed light on the last 70 years of this club’s great history!
